Applicants for Provisional Practise
- All applications for provisional practise must now include a Supervision Plan with Goals & Objectives (section 11(1) of the regulatory bylaws);
- Once an application has been received in its entirety, it will then be passed to the Registrar for review. The initial review process takes up to 8 weeks. If, upon review, any documents need to be corrected and resubmitted, the Registrar will e-mail the applicant and supervisor(s) to provide an “applicant status update”. Resubmitted documents will take an additional 2-4 weeks to be reviewed from the date that they are received.
- Once the Registrar has officially approved all application documents (up to the Supervision Plan), the Supervision Plan will then be submitted to the next Registration Committee meeting for approval. Please note: the applicant can only be registered as a provisional member once the Supervision Plan is officially approved, the applicant is notified of acceptance by the Registrar and the registration fee has been paid. If changes are required to the Supervision Plan, the applicant will need to resubmit according to the schedule below. No applicant will be placed on the Register as a provisional member until they have an approved Supervision Plan and have paid the registration fee.

Start Your Application Outside or Inside Canada
The Saskatchewan College of Psychologists has collaborated with participating members of the Association of Canadian Psychology Regulatory Organizations (ACPRO) to make application for registration by internationally-educated psychologists more streamlined and consistent across participating Canadian jurisdictions. ACPRO has developed a portal where internationally-educated applicants can now begin their application for licensure in Canada. The serves as a single window of entry for participating Canadian jurisdictions. The ACPRO portal will compile and authenticate required standard application documentation, including:
- Identity documents
- Education documents
- Registration/license documents
- Language proficiency test results
- Criminal background check
The ACPRO portal does not determine your eligibility for licensure. Once you have completed this process, you may authorize the ACPRO portal to provide the evaluation to the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists (SCP). If you are already in Canada and have completed a credential evaluation, you can apply directly as for Provisional Practise (see “Applicants for Provisional Practise” above). If you are wanting to come to Canada under the Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP), you can apply to SCP for an eligibility review (see below). If you are determined to be eligible, you will be sent a letter confirming you are eligible to apply for Provisional Practise.
